The Sponsored Programs Unit (USP) serves as the centralized hub for coordinating research and sponsored program activities across Jackson State University. Our mission is to support faculty and staff in securing external funding that aligns with JSU’s mission and enhances their scholarly and professional endeavors. We strive to cultivate a collaborative and resourceful research environment, empowering faculty and staff to explore competitive funding opportunities and innovative research solutions.

Our Services
USP provides comprehensive pre-award and research development support, including:
- Funding Opportunity Identification
Proactively sourcing and disseminating grant and contract opportunities from federal, state, corporate, and foundation sponsors. - Proposal & Budget Development
Assisting faculty and research teams in developing competitive grant proposals, budget preparation, and submission compliance. - Electronic Proposal Submission via Cayuse S2S
Supporting seamless proposal development and submission through Cayuse S2S, an integrated system-to-system platform for submitting federal proposals efficiently and ensuring compliance with sponsor requirements. - Project Implementation & Management Support
Providing guidance on award setup, compliance requirements, and sponsor engagement strategies to ensure seamless project execution.
